To be honest most everybody probably does.

Why is that?

You don't like to sweat? Probably.

You just washed your hair? I totally get this one.

Whatever the reason is just know that when exercise isn't part of your life. Your life will suffer.

Well okay then.....I will.

Aerobic Exercise

When you partake in high-energy exercise like these aerobic activities:

  • Running
  • Spinning
  • Dancing
  • Zumba
  • Mountain Bike Riding
  • Swimming

You will feel better physically and mentally. When you accelerate your heart with the high-energy exercise you release endorphins that make you feel good. Endorphins = Stress Reduction

Yoga

Don't feel like getting all sweaty Betty then grab your mat and do ya some yoga and meditation. Yoga is an amazing mind-body exercise. Ladies, if you haven't tried yoga NOW is an excellent time to do so. I started my love of yoga with Yoga with Adriene. You can find her on You Tube. She has a huge library to choose from. And let me tell you if I can do this you can too. Honestly though, doing Yoga with Adriene was my first successful yoga experience. I'm so happy that I didn't totally give up on yoga. Find what works for you.

Pilates

If yoga isn't your thing. Try pilates. This is an anaerobic exercise that will build your strength, flexibility, and endurance. You can get yourself and nice toned body doing pilates. I haven't tried pilates yet but I'm planning to.......soon. Classes are usually small and last about 1 hour.

Tai Chi or Martial Arts

These two are kinda like polar opposites. Tai Chi through flowing body movements and breathing techniques will help to calm your mind and condition your body. Now......Martial Arts helps to release frustration and tension with kicks and chops......and punches depending on what form of Martial Arts you are practicing. I have been a student of Martial Arts and can vouch that you will definitely release some tension. I'm a recommended black belt in Tae Jitsu.....watch yourself.

Meditation

Let's talk a little more about meditation. First, get it out of your head that meditation is weird. It is NOT.

Lamaze, which is form of meditation with breathing techniques. I totes took a Lamaze class when I was preggers. Resulted in this girl having my sweet bundle of joy natural with zero pain meds. If I can pushed a 6+ pound human out of my body without meds by using some simple and very helpful breathing techniques then it should do wonders to help reduce stress. Right?

Meditation can be done anywhere. You don't need a special room with special furniture or anything else for that matter. You just need to start incorporating it into your daily routine. You can do it on your commute to work. On your lunch hour. At home before or after work. Really anywhere guys.....not excuses.

Deep Breathing Meditation

Deep breathing is a great way to reduce stress and clear your mind. Also the best time to set your intention for the day. Here are some tips for deep breathing meditation.

  1. I like to lie down but you can also sit. Either way make sure you are comfortable and sitting up straight or lying stretched out. Place hand on your stomach.
  2. Breathe in through your nose. Your stomach should rise you'll notice your hand rising as you breathe in.
  3. Breathe out through your mouth, pushing as much air out as you can.
  4. Repeat 3- times.

These are all great ways to help you reduce your stress and to manage your stress. Stress isn't going to fix itself. You have to be an active participant in reducing your stress. From how you think about a stressful situation, how much good foods and clean water you add to your daily diet, how much sleep you get, how much exercise you get, and how much love you show yourself.

You Don't Need To Send An Invitation

Show the LOVE ladies. It really is pretty simple. And very doable. You must step forward and decide if YOU are going to plan your future and determine your habits. Or are you going to allow stress to do all that for you? Because it will. Stress doesn't wait for an invitation. It just takes over.
