You Have Control Over Your Stress

Is Stress in control of your life? It doesn't have to be. Head over to www.meetwithtisa.com to get the scoop on how to manage your stress.

Wow, have things been super crazy up in here this last month.

So many things are going on right now. Is is stressful? Well, I would be lying to you if I said it wasn't.

It's All Out On The Table Now

There it is.....all out on the table. Big fat stress has arrived at my doorstep. And I know there are many of you who have that same guest banging on your door.

In Stress Management I talked a lot about the fact that stress will occur. No matter how well you prepare for something you will be dumped with some stress. Especially, if someone other than yourself is involved.

If People Would Just Get Their Shit Together

You have control over how you handle a situation. It's the rest of the damn world that needs to get their shit together. Right?

Once you come to terms that you have control over your thoughts about a situation you will realize it is these thoughts that give you your attitude about it.

So with that being said, others involved also have this same damn control. They choose their own thoughts which will lead to what attitude they bring to the table. You can't control any of that. So don't try.

Oh Crap! I know. There are people out there that don't know how to handle shit. For Reals.

This is when you.....yes you....the one that understands your thoughts lead to your actions towards a situation. If you're not here yet go to Stress Management and get caught up. Knowing how all this thought process works just know that others may not have come to this glorious realization yet.

So deal with your own shit and let the others do their thing with theirs.

The Craziness In My Life

Okay, so this craziness I'm barking about in my life.

For starters, I've been preparing a 1st Birthday celebration. Who's 1st Birthday? Well, my sweet friends The Onyx Feather's 1st Birthday. And I'm sending out invites. Look for yours.

I also just bought me a nice little present because my old dinosaur computer that would lock up every three or four words finally got the best of me and I absolutely could not put up with its lack of cooperation one more minute. So, I went and got a computer I've been wanting for a long time........ an iMac. Totes love it.

Work has been so busy, working late, working into lunch, and working into note time. Yikes. And just had performance evaluations. Double Yikes.

I've been increasing my post for the blog and for insta gram. Getting the Fall line for The Onyx Feather ready. And that's no easy task. Design. Redesign. Order inventory. Design some more. Get product ready for the photographer for Product Shoot. Get information together for the web person. Whew.

Seriously, All Of This Really Happened

All the while not only was I fighting with my lame sauce computer I was also chasing this crazy dog I'm trying to find a good home for. That little shit can dig faster than any machine and he runs even faster.

I've had a couple of close friends pass away in the last month.

I've celebrated a zillion September birthdays....including yours truly.

I've volunteered.

I had major dental work.

I've traveled to a concert to jam the night away.

I've traveled out of state to go hiking. Cause the grass is always greener on the other side. Duh!

Stress can be packaged all nice and cute. But don't let it fool you. Head over to www.meetwithtisa.com to get the scoop on what to do when your stress levels go crazy.

How did I handle fighting a loser computer, chase a nascar dog, deal with lose of two friends, handle my workload, design an awesome Fall line, travel to get my jam on. travel to burn calories somewhere else, celebrate one birthday after another?????

This Is Exactly How I Did It

I thought positive thoughts about everything I was faced with. Sometimes....especially when the shit dog dug out three times in one day....finding positive thoughts were difficult. When this happened I would pause and do some deep breathing and a few yoga poses.

Then I would find the best solution to the problem and set out to resolve the problem.

Things are pretty smooth sailing now. However, the disappearing dog issue has not be resolved but I have a plan. So soon, real soon this issue will be a thing of the past.

Deep Breathing

When stuff starts piling up on you it's time to step back, pause, and do some deep breathing.

Let me remind you:

  1. Sit or Lie in a comfortable place.
  2. Close your eyes.
  3. Inhale through your nose for 7 counts.
  4. Exhale through your mouth for 4 counts.
  5. Repeat 5 - 10 times.
  6. Each breath release what's stressing you.

When you get your head cleared, you can look at the situation more positively.

Don't allow Stress to run your life and cause you to make decisions you'll regret or cause you to turn into a raging bitch. No. Don't let Stress win.

Face your stress and kiss it smack on the lips and then say goodbye.

Give stress the boot this holiday season with 7 Holiday survival tips. Head to www.meetwithtisa.com to get the scoop. Don't forget your boots.

Give Stress The Boot...Rinse and Repeat

However....... You certainly can't give stress the boot one time and it be gone. Nope. Doesn't work that way.

Stress comes at you in many forms AND it doesn't stop. Learning how to identify these stresses is one of the steps that help you in cutting the ties with stress. Or........ at the minimum give stress a longer leash so that it doesn't cause total upset with you and your health.

Conquer The Holiday Stress

Following these 7 steps throughout this holiday season can help ease some of the frustration you will be facing during this "Joyous" time.

1. Acknowledge the stress

Once you start feeling uneasy, frustrated, overwhelmed, pissed, upset, negative, defeated.... Sit down and make notes about what is going on in your life that could be causing these FEELINGS. Write it all out. Everything. How does this stress make you feel? How long has this stress been picking you apart? Why are you letting this stress attack your beautiful soul?

2. Breathe

Now sit up straight and close your eyes. Relax your shoulder. Relax your face. Take a deep breath in through your nose. Exhale through your mouth. Repeat this 3 - 5 times. More if needed. Let it all go.

3. Let It Go

Your mind is clear now. Let the stressful circumstance/situation go. Release it. I know, I know....it's still there but you're releasing the power it has over you. Some things that stress you you have no control over.  These stresses need to be released and forgotten let whomever deal with it BECAUSE they are the only ones that can. Don't give it another thought. STOP swelling and stewing over things out of your control.

4. Take Action

For the stressful circumstance/situation you CAN take care of make a list of 1 - 5 solutions to resolve this stress. Pick the best one of the 5 or so solutions and take action towards resolving this circumstance/situation and move on. Tip: if one solution doesn't work try one of the others.  Turn negative stress into positive action. You can resolve this. Breathe.

5. Take Responsibility

News flash. Your thoughts are yours and yours only. Nobody else have control over what you think. You can find more about this in Mind Management. You decide how you think about a circumstance/situation. Take responsibility over your actions and your thoughts. STOP being the victim. Blaming others or circumstances prevents you form changing your thoughts. Remember Steps 1 -4. START taking respondibility and STOP blaming others.

6. Smile, Smile, Smile

Now plant that beautiful smile on your face and enjoy your amazing life. Stress will not control you. Stress will not take away your smile. Stress will not take away the bounce in your step.

7. Then Giggle Your Silly Ass Off

Laughing is one of the most beautiful sounds to hear. Laughing/giggling.....releases negative energy. And.... BONUS is a damn good Ab workout.

The quote below is spot on. Print it and tape it up where you see it daily. In fact print several and tape them on your mirror in your bathroom, bedroom, put on your fridge, take one to work....it really helps to have a visual reminder to help keep you on track.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
— Lao Tzu

So babes, get your life back. Take time and settle down to a pad of paper and your favorite pen. Grab a tall coffee or a very large glass of wine and unload. Make plans for change. Then change it.

Remember if you haven't started the Stress Management series head there now. I recommend to check out Mind Management too. May need more wine. Cheers!

Stress Hates Exercise

To be honest most everybody probably does.

Why is that?

You don't like to sweat? Probably.

You just washed your hair? I totally get this one.

Whatever the reason is just know that when exercise isn't part of your life. Your life will suffer.

Stress hates exercise. Don't just sit there head over to www.meetwithtisa.com to get the scoop on what exercises will help reduce stress.

Exercise increases your quality of life. Gives you energy. Clears your mind. It also has some stress busting benefits.

Do I really need to go on about all the gift wrapped awesomeness exercise is?

Well okay then.....I will.

Aerobic Exercise

When you partake in high-energy exercise like these aerobic activities:

  • Running
  • Spinning
  • Dancing
  • Zumba
  • Mountain Bike Riding
  • Swimming

You will feel better physically and mentally. When you accelerate your heart with the high-energy exercise you release endorphins that make you feel good. Endorphins = Stress Reduction

Yoga

Don't feel like getting all sweaty Betty then grab your mat and do ya some yoga and meditation. Yoga is an amazing mind-body exercise. Ladies, if you haven't tried yoga NOW is an excellent time to do so. I started my love of yoga with Yoga with Adriene. You can find her on You Tube. She has a huge library to choose from. And let me tell you if I can do this you can too. Honestly though, doing Yoga with Adriene was my first successful yoga experience. I'm so happy that I didn't totally give up on yoga. Find what works for you.

Pilates

If yoga isn't your thing. Try pilates. This is an anaerobic exercise that will build your strength, flexibility, and endurance. You can get yourself and nice toned body doing pilates. I haven't tried pilates yet but I'm planning to.......soon. Classes are usually small and last about 1 hour.

Tai Chi or Martial Arts

These two are kinda like polar opposites. Tai Chi through flowing body movements and breathing techniques will help to calm your mind and condition your body. Now......Martial Arts helps to release frustration and tension with kicks and chops......and punches depending on what form of Martial Arts you are practicing. I have been a student of Martial Arts and can vouch that you will definitely release some tension. I'm a recommended black belt in Tae Jitsu.....watch yourself.

Meditation

Let's talk a little more about meditation. First, get it out of your head that meditation is weird. It is NOT.

Lamaze, which is form of meditation with breathing techniques. I totes took a Lamaze class when I was preggers. Resulted in this girl having my sweet bundle of joy natural with zero pain meds. If I can pushed a 6+ pound human out of my body without meds by using some simple and very helpful breathing techniques then it should do wonders to help reduce stress. Right?

Meditation can be done anywhere. You don't need a special room with special furniture or anything else for that matter. You just need to start incorporating it into your daily routine. You can do it on your commute to work. On your lunch hour. At home before or after work. Really anywhere guys.....not excuses.

Deep Breathing Meditation

Deep breathing is a great way to reduce stress and clear your mind. Also the best time to set your intention for the day. Here are some tips for deep breathing meditation.

  1. I like to lie down but you can also sit. Either way make sure you are comfortable and sitting up straight or lying stretched out. Place hand on your stomach.
  2. Breathe in through your nose. Your stomach should rise you'll notice your hand rising as you breathe in.
  3. Breathe out through your mouth, pushing as much air out as you can.
  4. Repeat 3- times.
Stress hates exercise. Head over to www.meetwithtisa.com and try these 5 types of exercise to give stress the boot.

These are all great ways to help you reduce your stress and to manage your stress. Stress isn't going to fix itself. You have to be an active participant in reducing your stress. From how you think about a stressful situation, how much good foods and clean water you add to your daily diet, how much sleep you get, how much exercise you get, and how much love you show yourself.

You Don't Need To Send An Invitation

Show the LOVE ladies. It really is pretty simple. And very doable. You must step forward and decide if YOU are going to plan your future and determine your habits. Or are you going to allow stress to do all that for you? Because it will. Stress doesn't wait for an invitation. It just takes over.

Take control. Be amazing. Be sassy. Love yourself.
