Let me tell ya, when you don't get enough sleep more things than being grumpy are going on.

Trading a little sleep here and there, starts adding up. This type of trading will not make your life richer by any means.


Your body is a machine and you had better get serious with how you're treating it.

What Are The Risks?

  • You are putting your health at risk. Especially heart health.
  • You are putting your creativity at risk or at the least a dull roar. Yikes!
  • You are putting yourself in position for weight gain.Who wants that?
  • You are putting your relationships at risk. No one, wants to hang with a grumpy bear.
  • You are impairing your memory. Mental fog.
  • You are impairing your concentration. No concentration...No productivity.
  • How Much Sleep Do I Really Need....anyway???

Research shows that adults need an average of 7-9 hours of sleep for optimal functionality

Sleep Is Powerful and Your Body Thrives With It.

Sleep affects your daily functioning and your PHYSICAL and MENTAL health.

During sleep your body releases appetite hormones.....suppresses ghrelin, a hunger hormone, and stimulate leptin, which controls appetite.

Sleepy time is when your body REPAIRS cells and DETOXES cells.

Time To Get Serious........or You're Gonna Suffer

Your body is a machine and you had better get serious with how you're treating it.

You can't expect your body to perform 100% with an empty tank.....and I'm not just talking food and water.

Stop Being Disrespectful.....To Yourself!

Your body requires and deserves better treatment. Look at what all it does for you. 

Do I need to make "a list" for you? Really? Make your own damn list this time. It's not difficult.

Working in Physical Therapy has opened my eyes daily as to how quickly your body's function can be taken away. In a snap of the fingers!

I see teenagers on their second or third joint or ligament surgery. I see people my AGE unable to walk without assistance. Let me tell you, I'm not ready to use a walker. Oh, hell no. Not if I can take care of myself to prevent it......however, accidents do happen. Just stating the facts. 

 Well Shit, Now That You Put It That Way

Respect that body of yours!

Love your body!

Nourish your body with plenty of water, good food, and 7-9 hours of sleep every single day. Just doing these simple and I mean simple things your body will perform for you at it optimal. You WILL be impressed. Give it a try. See how your days become less stressful, less ailments, more productive, and more enjoyable.

Are You Willing To Give Up "STUFF" For Your Health?

I hope right now you are nodding your head up and down!

What's it going to hurt to make sure you have enough sleep in your life. Not a damn thing. Well unless it really means the world to you to stay up late every night to watch TV....oh gawd I hope not. Or, if you really must go clubbing every Friday and Saturday....again...gawd I hope not.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do these things..... but choose wisely! Plan a TV night (yes, a...meaning one or maybe two....TV's not that great these days anyways), or one or two nights a month to go clubbing. But, really I do hope these are not your THINGS that are stealing your health. Just saying.

It's Really That Simple

Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Just sleep for 7-9 hours per night, drink 1/2 your body weight in ounce of water, and eat healthy and fresh foods. Oh yeah, and exercise....hmm, I thinks that's going to need to be on a post of it's own.

Good night peeps! Gotta get my....well, looks like 7.5 hours if I crawl into bed in the next 20 minutes.

Sleep. Water. Good Clean Food. Exercise

21-Day Challenge.....Who's in?

I Am A Sucker

I saw this the other night as I was perusing Pinterest. I am such a sucker for challenges. Such a sucker that last year I agreed to do a 30-day squat challenge to help a friend stay accountable. If any of you have done this challenge you know that it's pretty crazy. Something like over or close to 3000 squats in one month. Ridiculous. Right? 

Don't Ever Give UP

Anyhow, I kept at it and finished the month feeling pretty good. It wasn't too bad at all actually. BUT. The friend that challenged me wasn't quit the diehard as I was....nope, she did not finish. So, I challenge her this time. I'll let you know if she can handle the pressure.   

For reals, peeps! Let's do this. A strong core will rock your world.

Each day of the challenge you add all previous days so that on the 21st day you will be doing all 21 exercises.  : ) Sounds like fun. Right? Well it is. Drink Water.....Lots of Water

Water The Slayer Of All Things Toxic

Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. Water. This is how many glasses (8oz) of this most powerful beverage you should drink. Your size determines the number of glasses you should drink per day. I've heard 1/2 of your weight in ounces is what you should drink.

Water is so powerful for our bodies and plays a crucial role in disease prevention.  Here's a list of what water does......... as long as we are drinking plenty of it. And please don't wait until you're sitting in your PCP's office getting the news of blah, blah, blah is wrong with you. Be. Preventive.

Water is as important as Air. Duh! Drinking it and loving to drink it when you know all of the benefits.

Water Does All Of  This For You

  • Carries nutrients to our cells
  • Aids in digestion
  • Flushes waste from our bodies
  • Keeps our kidneys healthy
  • Keeps our organs ....skin, eyes, mouth and nose moist and functioning well
  • Lubricates our joints
  • Regulates our body temperature
  • Regulates our metabolic
  • Natural appetite suppressor
  • Helps the body metabolize fat
  • Aids in decreasing water retention

All It Takes Is Water

Keep in mind without enough water in our systems to carry out wastes and toxins we become sick. Just slight dehydration can wear down our systems....which will decrease our quality of life. All of this goodness from simply drinking the correct amount of water for your body. Pretty simply. Right?

We must keep our kidneys happy. To do that these little guys require lots of water. And by keeping the kidneys happy we are allowing the other organs to do their jobs. For instance, if the kidneys are not doing their job properly because we did not drink enough water then the liver has to step in. Then what happens when the liver is off picking up slack because of the kidneys are  laying low due to not having enough water to operate fully? One thing it's not doing is metabolizing stored fat. Resulting in more stored fat. Hence, weight gain.

There Is A Moral To This Story 

Moral of this story is DRINK a sufficient amount of water and let your body do its job. You won't get anywhere by refusing to put gas in your car or better yet by putting....let's say milk in your car. Get the picture. 

Your body will thank you by giving you nice glowing skin, less stiff joints, less sickness, frequent bowel movements, non dry eyes or mouth,  and fat loss = weight loss.

Now, WHO doesn't want any of this.......????

Drink UP!!

Drink up! Get yourself a cute water bottle and keep it with you at all times. I keep mine with me forever and always. I drink without even thinking about it.....but let me tell you I sure do know when I haven't been so compliant. My skin will  feel all dry and look dull. I get terribly constipated. I'll be grumpy and sluggish. And I'll feel bloated. Yucko! Hate when I fall off the wagon. Good thing this wagon is easy to get back on. So Drink up!! 

Water is THE nourishing element. Respect. Appreciate. Indulge.
